Deltec skimmers are characterized by particularly good skimming results. The Deltec
Skimmer 1500i
features a newly developed emergency overflow. This prevents the skimmer from “boiling over” when the water level rises. This can happen, for example, if the feed pump stops working and additional water flows into the sump. The water level also rises if there are problems with the air supply, e.g., due to a kink in the silicone hose or foreign objects in the air intake line. This can cause the skimmer to “boil over,” causing the water to rise so high that it is forced into the skimmer cup, and the skimmer solution is flushed back into the aquarium. This leads to extreme water pollution. The Emergency Overflow made by Deltec prevents this and thus protects the aquarium from contamination.
Emergency Overflow Pipe & Regulator Pipe
The water level in the skimmer can be read from the emergency overflow pipe. In addition, minimum and maximum markings help with the optimal water level adjustment. The ability to swap the emergency overflow pipe with the regulator pipe allows the user to decide how the pipes are arranged.
Pump
The Deltec Skimmer 1500i
is operated with the Deltec DCC 3 Pump. This 24V DC pump is adjustable via a ten-stage controller and can therefore be optimally adjusted to the water level and water load. At level 7 (optimal for most aquariums), 1,000 liters of air are generated. The maximum air volume is 1,200 liters.
The ergonomic cylindrical shape
Thanks to its ergonomic cylindrical shape, the Deltec Skimmer 1500 i achieves optimal skimming results. The shape of the skimmer does not taper towards the top. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated, and only burst in the riser tube of the skimmer cup. From there, the collected liquid can be drained via a drain hose without having to remove the skimmer cup.
Cleaning System
An optional cleaning system is available for the Deltec Skimmer 1500 i, whereby the inner riser tube is cleaned of deposits by turning the skimmer cup lid. If these deposits are not removed regularly, the skimming performance will decrease dramatically, as foam bubbles burst prematurely on this layer and thus cannot contribute to water purification.
Hollow-Chamber Floor
An additional innovation of the Deltec Skimmer 1500 i is the hollow-chamber floor. This helps to further dampen noise, which is why the already quiet Deltec Skimmer 1500 i is described as “whisper-quiet.” In addition, the water flows back through the hollow-chamber floor. This means that the water is discharged from the skimmer at the lowest possible point.
Disassembly, Dimensions & Structure
The regular cleaning of the pump is made very easy by the quick and easy disassembly of the skimmer. The Deltec Skimmer 1500 i can be assembled and disassembled without tools. Our tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in less than 20 seconds.The dimensions of our skimmer are designed so that you can easily install it in your filter tank. The high volume of the cylindrical shape means a small footprint is sufficient. You can operate the Deltec Skimmer 1500 i variably in water depths of 16 cm to 26 cm.
