Product Description in DetailEmergency OverflowDeltec skimmers are characterized by particularly good skimming results. The Deltec
Skimmer 3000i features a newly developed emergency overflow. This prevents the skimmer from “boiling over” when the water level rises. This can happen, for example, if the feed pump stops working and additional water flows into the sump. The water level also rises due to problems with the air supply, e.g., due to a kink in the silicone hose or foreign objects in the air intake line. This can cause the skimmer to “boil over,” causing the water to rise so high that it is forced into the skimmer cup, and the broth is flushed back into the aquarium. This leads to extreme water pollution. The Emergency Overflow made by Deltec prevents this and thus protects the aquarium from contamination.
Emergency Overflow Pipe & Regulator PipeThe water level in the skimmer can be read on the emergency overflow pipe. Minimum and maximum markings also help with optimal water level adjustment. The ability to swap the emergency overflow pipe with the regulator pipe allows the user to decide how the pipes are arranged.
Pump
The Deltec Skimmer 3000i is powered by the Deltec DCC 5 Pump. This 24V DC pump is adjustable via a ten-stage controller and can therefore be optimally adjusted to the water level and water load. At level 8 (optimal for most aquariums), 1,600 liters of air are generated. The maximum air volume is 1,900 liters.
The ergonomic cylindrical shape
Thanks to its ergonomic cylindrical shape, the Deltec Skimmer 3000 i achieves optimal skimming results. The shape of the skimmer does not taper towards the top. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated, and only burst in the riser tube of the skimmer cup. From there, the collected liquid can be drained via a drain hose without having to remove the skimmer cup.
Cleaning System
An optional cleaning system is available for the Deltec Skimmer 3000 i, whereby the inner riser tube is cleaned of deposits by turning the skimmer cup lid. If these deposits are not removed regularly, the skimming performance decreases drastically, as foam bubbles burst prematurely on this layer and thus cannot contribute to water purification.
Hollow-Chamber BottomAn additional innovation of the Deltec Skimmer 3000 i is the hollow-chamber bottom. This helps to further dampen noise, which is why the already quiet Deltec Skimmer 3000 i is described as “whisper-quiet.” Furthermore, the water flows back through the hollow-chamber bottom. This means that the water is led out of the skimmer at the lowest possible point, which means that almost no air bubbles can flow into the aquarium.
Disassembly, Dimensions & Construction
Regularly required cleaning of the pump is made very easy by the simple and quick disassembly of the skimmer. The Deltec Skimmer 3000 i can be assembled and disassembled without tools. Our tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in less than 20 seconds.The dimensions of our skimmer are designed so that you can conveniently install it in your filter tank. The high volume of the cylindrical shape means that a small footprint is sufficient. You can operate the Deltec Skimmer 3000 i variably in water depths from 18 cm to 26 cm.
