The Deltec Skimmer 6000i is operated with the Deltec DCC 5 pump. This 24V DC pump is adjustable via a ten-stage controller and can therefore be optimally adjusted to the water level and water load. At the optimal level of 8 (for most aquariums), 1,600 liters of air are generated. The maximum air volume is 1,900 liters.
The ergonomic cylindrical shape
Thanks to its ergonomic cylindrical shape, the Deltec Skimmer 6000 i achieves optimal skimming results. The shape of the skimmer does not taper towards the top. This allows the small air bubbles to rise unhindered, are fully saturated, and only burst in the riser tube of the skimmer cup. From there, the collected scum can be drained via a drain hose without having to remove the skimmer cup.
Cleaning System
An optional cleaning system is available for the Deltec Skimmer 6000 i, whereby deposits are cleaned from the inner riser pipe by turning the skimmer cup lid. If these deposits are not removed at regular intervals, the skimming performance is drastically reduced, as foam bubbles burst prematurely on this layer and thus cannot contribute to water purification.
Disassembly, Dimensions & Construction
The regular cleaning of the pump is made very easy by the simple and quick disassembly of the skimmer. The Deltec Skimmer 6000 i can be assembled and disassembled without tools. Our tests have shown that the pump can be removed from the skimmer in less than 20 seconds. The dimensions of our skimmer are designed so that you can easily install it in your filter tank. The high volume of the cylindrical shape means a small footprint is sufficient. You can operate the Deltec Skimmer 6000 i in water depths from 18 cm to 26 cm.
